Workshops – visiting teachers

Gulnaaz Dashti

Gulnaaz’s workshop sessions will run as follows:

Gulnaaz Dashti began her study and practice of yoga in 1990 under the guidance of B.K.S. Iyengar, Dr. Geeta S. Iyengar and Prashant S. Iyengar at Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India.

In 1998, she was granted a teaching position at the prestigious institution by B.K.S. Iyengar and has since become one of the senior teachers of beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. Under the watchful eye of Dr. Geeta S. Iyengar, she assisted in the medical classes for over 20 years. This rare and specialized skill of therapeutic application is a hallmark of Iyengar Yoga and furthers the mission that students can experience yoga regardless of their ailments or medical conditions.

In 1999, B.K.S. Iyengar requested her to travel internationally to teach Iyengar Yoga to women in Tehran. Since that time, she has been overseeing the training of women throughout the Middle East as well as conducting workshops, intensives and trainings in Europe, Canada, Australia and South East Asia.

In 2011, she received the name Yoganjali and the blessings of B.K.S Iyengar to open an Iyengar studio in Baner, Pune. She currently conducts weekly classes of all levels including, pranayama, medical and children’s classes. She continues to be a devoted student of Prashant Iyengar and the philosophical traditions of Yoga.

Her teaching conveys the understanding and wisdom of direct experience, an unwavering commitment to the teachings of Iyengar Yoga and a generous, lighthearted relationship with her students.
